workshop on alternative media development

 
18 students of mass communication department(university of Gujrat) attended workshop  on human rights from 26 to 29 July at O'spring Estate, murree organized by Insan Foundation Trust in collaboration with United States Institute of Peace..
kishwer sultana and asif gave training to students.. 
The objective of this workshop to built awareness among media students to demonstrate about social, political and economical viability of gender equality, woman's empowerment ,rights of religious and ethnic minorities.
so that in future when students will go to their fields ,can make alternative media development and play some positive role
that workshop was really very informative and student did creative work.. they also gave a assignment to student (to make an add to advertise a product)  which should deliver a positive massage toward audience about humanism and spread the message of peace.

How we can change pakistan's condition??

Now a days pakistan faces so many challenges in external and internal basis.
the condition of pakistan becoming more miserable day by day.flood, storm, destruction, bomb-lasts, agitation,
fear, ambition, prejudice and pride make its lay of foundation weak.and also make it economically and socially weak.
we need to make clear policies and principals because it is very necessary for the betterment of our country.
as we know that human is bound to his own bias and essence.he is powerless infront of so called traditions made by society. but those people who choose sagacity(intelligence) and invent right ways obtain delieverance.
same unity is the best policy and it develop real strength, we should need to be unite(unite we are strong we will be) and every Pakistani should need to contribute some positive changes because if every person realize his responsibility and done their work with honesty than Inshallah soon we can overcome all crises.

third gender

Third Gender referred as Hijra in Pakistani society.A sociologist describes them as “man minus maleness” and “man plus woman”.they live a miserable life they have no proper source of income
They are viewed with different attitudes. Some people regard them as a menace whereas others feel sorry for them. some time alien attitude of the society and Unemployment  attract youth to this community
we should need to change our social behavior,create opportunities for employment to them,make training institute ,give them legislation n constitutional protection so that they can utilize their skills in proper way.give them right of inheritance and government should develop public awareness program to handle the issue.
Moreover, there should be complete record of born third gender on district level. So that these third genders can either be provided financial help publicly to restrain them from falling in socially unacceptable activities or assigned them quota in employment.

All educational boards of the Punjab province announced matriculation 10th class annual result  today 4th August 2010..Almost 63 per cent of the candidates who sat for the exams passed all over punjab.It is important  to mention that girls have traditionally done better than boys in the humanities group as well.many girls got top positions.gradually girls enter every field of life and prove themselves strong entity..that is a good thing.

Media potrays women as a show piece

media potrays a women as a show piece..it makes women a sexual object for men gaze..gradually women lose her respect and dignity because of media's wrong presentaion.
we can see Images of female bodies everywhere in media.women and their body parts sell everything from food to cars.
Provocative images of women's partly clothed or naked bodies are especially prevalent in advertising.
women’s bodies are sexualized in ads in order to grab the viewer’s attention. Women become sexual objects when their bodies and their sexuality are linked to products that are bought and sold.
media should need to understand the women position n dignity..and should potray her in positive style.

Media should play positive role

Media focuses on corruption so much that the efforts of so many good people around us are ignored and not high lighted even. We are generating hopelessness in our Nation at a time when positive attitude and constructive behavior is the hour of the need. We are willing and ready to work for the betterment of our country, Pakistan is not a reflection of handful of corrupt political leaders and their allies but its a country of millions of hard working people who earn their living through hard work and not via mean and unlawful short cuts.Facilities are not problem but loosing sense of security is now our serious problem,.we need to understand our own worth.
 I fail to understand that all we see, read and hear is a mere hue and cry on the bad aspects, we need to focus on positive people around us to distribute and ray of hope for our Nation.
We are the proud people of Pakistan and its already too late but I guess we are never too late for taking a good step forward which is to high light the good attributes of our Nation in our print and electronic media.
